Hey all! Haven't talked about The Starch Solution so much lately, so here ya go! Share your thoughts down below – thanks! Ryan 🙂
It us extremely important to start your day with fresh, clean water; not coffee, not juice, not fruit. You need to hydrate first to flush toxins and create a mucous-like lining in your stomach to receive and digest food. Recommending water appropriately 30 to 60 minutes before each meal, but not with water. Try veggie juice or seed milks with meals.
I have a diabetic family member that was losing weight on McDougall but she was losing her hair and was told she wasn't getting enough protein. How can one lose weight on start solution without losing hair? Was it too low fat? Too low protein?
Great info
Oh man! You are looking so great!! I wish I would do so but my heath never improved 😥
Great info! Thank you for sharing
Glad you’ve said this. I have wondered how the fat soluble vitamins are metabolised with just starches (I know there are fats even in starches but it did seem way to low otherwise. Half an avocado is not going to mess anyone up lol!
Your website sucks & so do you
Thanks Ryan, this is exactly what I needed to hear. I’m making a few adjustments to the McDougall diet to suit my needs. Im going to start with fruit in the mornings and not oatmeal . I have a few more tweaks that I need to make to be more successful. Thanks for your inspiration!
Hi Ryan … just started the Starch based diet. For weight loss, as quickly as possible, would you recommend potatoes, or grains like quinoa, as a main starch source.
Everyone's body is a little different. You're right to adjust to what your body is telling you to do. We should never lose sight of that.
I don't think it is fair to call it a modified McDougall approach since the differences are quite substantial. What you describe is similar to what many others propose such as Rip Esselstyn.
